Types of papers

The following types of articles will be considered for publication:

Original Research Articles
They should include:
Title page
Abstract
Key words
Introduction
Materials and methods
Results
Discussion
Acknowledgements
References
Tables and Figure legends

Brief Communications
Short research articles intended to present exciting findings that will have a major impact in neuroscience. Brief Communications are limited to 4,500 words, including the abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, references and figure legends. Additionally, Brief Communications may include no more than 4 figures and/or tables, which together may occupy no more than one full page.
Review Articles Review articles dealing with a topic of interest to a wide readership are welcome. Comprehensible writing, clear structure of the paper, and convincing illustrations are important. The manuscript should have an Abstract, but there are no other formal requirements.

Case Reports
Reports on single cases may be published provided they include new pathologic, pathogenetic or clinico-pathological information. However, Case Reports without length restrictions are occasionally published. They are restricted to exceptionally interesting, excellently illustrated single cases that provide new scientific insight

Letters to the Editor
Letters may include commentaries about previous papers on other matters of interst, reports on single cases, or negative findings. Letters do not have an Abstract, nor do they have sections such as Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results and Discussion. Letters must not exceed 1,500 words and 3 printed pages, including figures, tables (if any) and references.
